WORSHIPARTS INTERNSHIP
The WorshipArts Internship is a hands-on, ministry-centered experience designed to help students and young adults grow spiritually, creatively, and as leaders. This internship goes beyond observation and busywork. Interns are invited into the real rhythms of ministry life, serving alongside WorshipArts staff and volunteers while helping shape meaningful worship and learning experiences for students in our community. The heart of the internship is discipleship through participation, learning by doing, and growing through relationship.
This internship is a great fit for students ages 16–24 who love Jesus, have a heart for worship or creative ministry, and want to explore how God may be calling them to serve. Whether an intern is considering going into ministry or simply wants to grow in leadership and faith, this experience is meant to equip and encourage them for wherever God leads next.
Ministry Experience & Skill Development
Interns receive practical, hands-on experience in worship and creative ministry. Depending on their interests and gifting, interns may assist with worship rehearsals, services, tech setups, student bands, drama coaching, choirs, or creative projects. They gain insight into how student ministry is planned, executed, and evaluated, learning what it takes to support and lead teams effectively. Interns are also exposed to leadership skills such as communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving that are valuable both in ministry and everyday life.
Responsibilities & Involvement
Rather than simply observing, interns actively participate in the ministry. Responsibilities may include helping lead rehearsals or sections, assisting with tech and production needs, supporting youth programming, preparing materials, and contributing to events and special projects. Interns are also invited into staff discussions and planning meetings so they can understand the bigger picture of ministry and learn how collaboration and leadership function behind the scenes. Responsibilities are shaped around each intern’s gifts, interests, and growth goals, allowing them to be challenged while being supported.
Community & Mentorship
Interns become part of the WorshipArts community. They build relationships with staff, volunteers, students, and fellow interns, experiencing ministry as a team rather than in isolation. Regular mentoring conversations provide encouragement, accountability, and guidance as interns reflect on what they are learning and where they are growing. These relationships are often one of the most meaningful parts of the internship experience.
Commitment & Expectations
The WorshipArts Internship typically requires a commitment of approximately 7–10 hours per week. Interns are expected to show up consistently, serve faithfully, and represent Christ well in their words, actions, and attitudes. Because this is a ministry role, interns are asked to live in alignment with Christian values and to approach their responsibilities with teachability, reliability, and a servant’s heart.
Growth & Future Impact
While the internship is unpaid, it offers valuable growth that extends far beyond a semester. Interns leave with real ministry experience, stronger leadership skills, and deeper faith. Many interns find that the relationships, mentoring, and hands-on experience they gain at WorshipArts shape their future involvement in church, ministry, and leadership in lasting ways.
Application & Next Steps
The WorshipArts Internship is offered during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. After completing an application, potential interns will participate in a short interview and, if accepted, attend an intern orientation to prepare them for the semester ahead. This internship is an invitation to grow, serve, and discover how God can use your gifts to impact others through worship and creative ministry.
